Nifty news from Chanticleer International Book Awards (CIBAs)

Was gaming with the fam earlier this week when I received notice that I had been ‘tagged’ in a post from Chanticleer. Curious, I followed the white rabbit down the hole and discovered–

The Bookminder series is in the finalist round for their OZMA Award for fantasy series! *cue my shock and awe* So that’s neat. 😊 And congrats and good luck to all the other authors who’ve made it this far. I might have to go fill my TBR list. 👀

Nifty news from Chanticleer International Book Awards (CIBAs) … part II 🥰

In a fun and surprising-to-me followup to the news regarding The Bookminder series, yesterday I became aware of news on the short story front. Due to its length (I chose to stay close to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s word counts for his Sherlock Holmes novels when conceiving my own) Sherlock Holmes & the Ripper of Whitechapel is considered a novella or a ‘short work’ within the CIBA categories. The book is now in the shortlist for their Shorts Book Awards category for novellas, novelettes, short stories, and essays.

If you’re here via . . . then I have, apparently, done something right with my url redirects. *fingers crossed* Long story short? I don’t blog. Road to good intents and all, I just do not blog. And so, until I can figure out what, exactly, the Decaf Novelist blog’s future is… you’re here. 🙂 Thanks for popping by!

A quick quick update (so that I can get back to the many manuscripts that are sitting open upon my desk.)

Keep an eye to the ‘progress bars’ above. I am being rather good about updating them. (Mainly because it’s fun for me to see the little bars fill up. Far easier for me to get a feel for things that way than by word count, or contracts, or even the barometer that is My Mood. haha) Goodreads also is becoming a better indicator of the upcoming release slate. Long story short: good things are in the works!!

Thanks for popping by and, as always,

Happy reading!
